Every week I go out to New Matadi and sit in a dark room with no electricity and study the word of God with 9 powerful women. The last couple of months I have really seen them grow immensely. Even before we start our study they are asking questions about the passage for the next week. Every week I learn something from them. Last week we studied John 19, I thought it was going to be straight forward. The crucifixion, it is what it is, but no. They brought up some things I have not thought about for a long time. When they ask question their eyes get big and they lean forward in their chairs and are so excited to understand the chapter that basically defines our faith.  They talked about how the Lord forgave us for all our sins and then the questions about forgiveness came flooding in. Each time this subject comes up I cringe. Because of the atrocities of a 14 year civil war they ask loads of questions about how to forgive. I am so thankful that Jesus set the true example of forgiveness.
